  8. This is a great first meeting and I've learned what we are suppose to do for this fall 2013 intersession. You can learn a great amount of knowledge with the reference sites provided. I will be preparing for our major essays such as descriptive, narrative, expository and persuasive.

  10. Excellent first day in this Fundamentals of College English course. I will hopefully enjoy taking this class and not regretting that I need to come here over the break. If any of my classmates needs a helping hand or a friend to talk to then you "may" consult me! Merry Christmas to all of you and a Happy Hanukkah to anyone Jewish!

  11. Today is the first day of fall intersession class. It will be end at Jan. 17th. I think it is a short time for a class. And I noticed that I have a lot of work to do. I hate writing essays. It is always a hard time for me. Hope I can do well in this class, and also hope everyone could get an "A".

    1. With practice come perfection. Once you have perfected something you will enjoy doing it. I believe you can perfect your essay writing, so can I.

  12. This class is pretty alright. I'm excited that the class will be fast; we can go through the material quickly and finish by spring semester. I didn't know that the work we would be doing is mostly essays, since I'm not the best writer. I'm hoping this class will teach me to become a better one. I wonder if i blinked in the class picture.

  13. Today is the first day of class and it is for introduction. It seems we have lots of thing to do in this class. The class only has 3 weeks so I should work very hard, and I can imagine I will benefit from this class. I am looking forward to the following classes.

    3. I agree with you, Han. We need to work hard as a foreign language learner. I hope we can learn many things from this course.

  14. I wrote a comment but I don't know where it went.

Toady was a smooth introduction for me, I was a but nervous to be in a classroom environment again. I am looking forward to learning how to blog, Moodle or use the MyReadingLab access. These tools are new to me since I was last in school. My classmates all look nice and Dr. Rivera sounds fair and polite. Intersession looks to be fast moving down the road but enjoyable nonetheless.

  15. I hope we primarily focus on writing essays in Fall Intersession. It was a miracle that I passed EN095 with flying colors. I didn't do great last semester in EN100, because I had many distractions. I believe I'll be able to pass, because we meet everyday, Monday through Friday. That way, I can be more focused.

Quick tips about writing essays: no cliches, no run ons, make sure your sentences are not redundant, and spell out certain words. Example: instead of don't, write do not, and instead of writing number 1, write the word "one". Unless it is a complex number like: 1,230,456. I know, because I learned it the hard way in EN095. Futhermore, just write your best, and good luck.
